About the Event
The movie poster has long been an important and exciting collaboration between filmmaker and designer. It's the opportunity for both to distill the auteur's story down to a single image that will both inspire and intrigue the audience at a glance.
AMOA, AIGA Austin, and SXSW Film Festival proudly pay tribute to this shared purpose with this exhibit. Filmmakers and designers from all over the world have submitted dozens of posters for everything from studio-backed feature films, to self-financed documentaries, to experimental animated shorts.
Also on display will be the finalists of the SXSW Film Design Award for Excellence in Title Design, an exciting new expansion of last year's poster design competition.
So join us for this annual event of celebrating film and design. The exhibition will be on display March 12-19.
